Hi-Ho’s Fall Favorites!

As summer comes to an end, beach trips are replaced with apple picking and fun-packed fall festivals. We’ve gathered our fall favorites, all in close proximity to our Fairfield County hotel, in an attempt to make your fall planning a breeze. We’re excited for autumn’s splendor – Fairfield County offers so many wonderful fall activities.

Connecticut Audubon Society, Fairfield CT
An average fall day quickly turns into an adventure after a visit to the Connecticut Audubon Society. Fairfield is lucky to be home to a place that works hard to conserve Connecticut’s beautiful environment, so next time you’re with us, enjoy a scenic walk through their nature facility or attend their Master Naturalist Woodland Program to learn more about Connecticut’s animals, habitat, and plants. The Discovery Museum and Planetarium, Bridgeport CT
Bridgeport’s Discovery Museum and Planetarium is home to endless exhibits, a ropes course that stretches over 5 acres, and many events including an October Spooktacular on the 27th. Only a 10-minute drive from Hotel Hi-Ho, The Discovery Museum and Planetarium has everything needed for a fall day well spent. More info here!

St. Peter’s Annual Apple Festival, Monroe CT
The first weekend after Labor Day is claimed by St. Peter’s Annual Apple Festival, a much-loved community event. With over 100 craft vendors, raffle prizes, live music, and of course tons of apples, the historical Monroe Green is a sight not to miss. More info here!

Silverman’s Farm, Easton CT
Always a crowd pleaser and with something for everyone, a visit to Silverman’s Farm, family owned and operated since 1924, offers the full farm experience with orchards for apple picking and scenic tractor rides, and as the months change, pumpkin picking for Halloween. Plasko’s Farm, Trumbull CT
Head on over to Trumbull to check out the corn maze, pumpkin picking, and newly opened creamery by Plasko’s Farm. After you complete the maze through the 10 foot corn stalks, congratulate yourself with yummy ice cream, or even cider donuts! Not in the mood for a maze? Check out the hayrides and farm animals instead, there is something for everyone. More info here!

Ambler Farm Day, Wilton CT
Pay a visit to Ambler Farm on September 30th for their annual Ambler Farm Day! Only 15 minutes from the hotel and right off the Merritt, farm animals, a Make-Your-Own-Scarecrow station, hayrides, and more await. More info here!
